The Postgraduate Certificate for Subject Specialist Teachers

Postgraduate Certificate for Primary Mathematics (MaST)

MaST Cohort 9

The Post Graduate Certificate (Primary Mathematics) is a two-year professional development programme for primary school teachers. It offers a significant opportunity for CPD which will enable participating colleagues to be at the cutting edge of teaching and learning in mathematics.

The University of Northampton, the Higher Education Institute, have supported in excess of 700 teachers to graduate as Mathematics Specialist Teachers since 2009; of this group of colleagues, over 80 have been Warwickshire teachers. Teachers’ involvement within the Programme has significantly influenced teaching and learning experiences for children in their own respective classrooms, across their school and, in some instances, practice transfer across schools.

A taster session for colleagues interested in Cohort 9 (2017/19) has been arranged and the session will be led by Dr. Amanda O’Shea, Senior Lecturer, University of Northampton. The session is intended for colleagues interested in the Programme, together with their respective Head Teacher.

For further details regarding the Programme, together with the opportunity to reserve a place at the Taster Session, please contact Jonathan Hughes.
