FREE workshop for Key Stage 2 to build and experiment with wind turbines.
A 2 hour workshop delivered in your classroom, developed with engineering experts Imagineering.
In the 1970s Donald Healey, engineer and race car driver extraordinaire was asked by the Ministry Of Defence to design a wind turbine to be used in the field. We would like to invite a class at your school to take up the challenge and design the most efficient sails for our turbine.
Pupils will be introduced to wind power and aerodynamics through a hands on opportunity to construct a mini wind turbine. Using scientific methods pupils will be encouraged to experiment with the design of the turbine sails and record their findings using scientific methods.
Thanks to grant funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund we are able to offer this workshop free of charge to 10 schools across Warwickshire ( places will be booked on a first come first served basis).
