Improving outcomes using technology conference

The ICT Development Service in partnership with the Learning and Performance Team would like to welcome Headteachers, Governors and School Leaders to our Improving Outcomes using Technology Conference.

When: 20th May 2016, 8.30 – 16.00

Where: Pound Lane Learning Centre, Leamington Spa, CV32 7RT

Our Summer Conference will focus on raising awareness of better technological based practices to support schools in improving outcomes.

We are delighted to welcome Tim Rylands as our key speaker – Tim Rylands has been described as “an extremely gifted and inspirational teacher, with a love of the creative potential of technology”.

With over 25 years of classroom experience, Tim is now much in demand for training days, conferences and seminars around the world, presenting the results of his work in an inspiring, practical and often humorous way.

Tim will open our conference by delivering his keynote: Animal Magic! A mission improbable.

You will explore the power of inventive technologies, and see how they can have a huge impact on raising confidence and creativity in children, right across the curriculum.

We need to inspire young people; enhance their creativity and confidence so they can pick ideas up and start to juggle with them; encourage resourcefulness through challenge, but also the ability to reflect, and benefit from the experience of others; to motivate a love of learning for life.

With a focus very much on creativity, particularly inspiring learners’ imaginations, we will investigate ways of working that are centred on innovation and you’ll leave with many free accessible tech tools and practical ideas, that you could be harnessing back in your setting.

Observers have commented on his imaginative and encouraging style of teaching, which allows children to express their creativity and make significant gains in attainment.

He has received notable recognition for using computer games, and Web 2 technologies to inspire children’s creative confidence in many areas of the curriculum – writing, speaking and listening, music, thinking skills, collaboration, interaction and much more.
